About Martha
Martha is a freelance dancer and choreographer from South Wales.

Training
Martha has graduated from P.A.R.T.S (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios), Brussels, as part of generation XIV, where her practice was shaped by intensive physical research, compositional inquiry and a deep engagement with contemporary performance making. Her formative training took place across Wales and the UK through local grassroots provision and later Rambert Pre-Vocational, Ballet Cymru Associates, National Dance Company Wales Associates, Rubicon Dance and National Youth Dance Wales.

Artistic Practice
Marthas choreographic practice is rooted in the intersection of contemporary dance and visual arts, and she has a strong interest in how choreography can converse with music, voice, and score. Her practice continues to evolve through independent creations and collaborative contexts, reflecting a sustained interest in the complexities of the lived experience in all its forms.
Her work is supported by forms of documentation, mainly visual archiving and writing practices, with an interested in leaving physical traces of art in all its forms and striving for a multifaceted creative process and an interest in multimedia approaches to art making.

The Leo Collective
Alongside her own perfromance work, creative practice and collaborations she is a founding member of the Leo Collective, an international trio of female dance artists working between Brussels, Prague and Lithuania. The contrast in their creative approaches sparked a curiosity for working together. Their artistic voices are distinct - even opposing at times, yet they share an intuitive connection they call the Leo Phenomenon; a sensibility fostering a meaningful creative resonance.
